Things I love right now.....

Summer temptation: Frozen Yoghurt
I am seriously jealous of all you lucky Zurich inhabitants who recently got the Yoo Moo shop on Pelikanstrasse (no 19 ;). If I lived in Zurich, I'd be there once per day on hot days. Free from fat, but certainly not free from enjoyment! In the photo one with Madagascan Vanilla topped with fresh blueberries, mango and coconut flakes. My mouth is watering by the pure memory of it!

Music: Lifehouse's "From where you are" and Mat Kearney's album "Young love" (am especially hooked on "Chasing the light", "Sooner or later" and "Ships in the night".

TV series: Homeland
Can't get enough!! Am completely hooked and find it hard not to start a new episode, even when time is way past midnight.

Beauty products:
Laura Mercier's Almond Coconut Milk Honey Bath (during rainy days). It smells absolutely divine and makes any bubble bath feel luxurious!! Leaves a very smooth feeling on the skin....

Redken's "Smooth down" series! Makes my hair feel amazingly soft and it I have the feeling it could detangle anything =) It also smells really good and it stays a long time. Love it!

Clarin's Eye Revive Beauty Flash! Great way to wake up puffy morning eyes..... I find it the best when kept in the fridge over night as it makes the feeling even more refreshing.

Dermalogica's Antioxidant Hydramist
The perfect summer skin refresher/hydrater! Sometimes in summer when it's really hot, in the morning, I find it better to just spray on something like this rather than putting on a cream as it makes me feel fresher.

Food: Caprese salads
I make them constantly right now as it's fast and so easy to make and the taste, when you have a really good Mozzarella di Bufala, some sunwarm plum or cherry tomatoes and fresh basil is just to die for..... My most recent fix is, (apologies to all you Italians out there), to replace the olive oil with a mix of Avocado oil and Pistacchio oil and top it off with a sweeter kind of Balsamico. The perfect combo in my opinion! I also love to make it with some green salad and Avocado to make it more "foody" (as in the photo). The perfect summer lunch or dinner.....

What are you guys hooked on right now??

Florida: The shopping

Picking out my favorite pieces from all the shopping done during the Florida road trip was hard, but at least easier than writing a post about the trip itself!
When it comes to the shopping, I can show you most of it in visuals ;))

There is great shopping all over Florida, but one thing that I will say is if you're close to Fort Lauderdale or Miami and you like shopping - DO NOT MISS SAWGRASS MILLS!! Here you can get very very lucky (like I did with a Last Call sales at Nieman Marcus!! ;))).

Here below, some of my favorites:

From left to right:
1. Ballerina's from Elie Tahari, lovely classical wedge heels from Marc Jacobs and gold sandals from Seychelles footwear.
2. I fell in love with this really cute tunica from Ella Moss!
3. A gorgeous blouse from Pippa that I found at Bloomingdales.
4. A casual, striped sweater from Michael Kors, bought at Nordstroms.
5. White, banded, cropped sweatpants from Abercrombie and Fitch.
6. A protective case/bag for my Macbook from Marc by Marc Jacobs, shopped at Bloomingdales.
5. A floral printed blouse from Forever 21.
6. Perfectly fitted camis/tanks from Press that I loved so much that I bought it in 3 colors (white, powder and khaki). Happily found at Nordstroms.
7. Striped, knitted sweater from Ralph Lauren.
8. A cute camisole/nightie from Honeydew.
9. Jeans from Hudson. Soooooo comfy and great fit!
10. A cami/tank with Mickey Mouse in sequins, bought at Disney world (of course ;))
11. A lovely netted sweater from Vintage Havana.
12. A long t-shirt from Marc by Marc Jacobs with a shark motive (couldn't resist!).
13. A star patterned top from Chaser. Great with a pair of leggings.
14. A light red hoodie from Abercrombie and Fitch (can't get enough!).
15. Purple bikini from Marc by Marc Jacobs found at Sawgrass mills (Bloomingdales outlet).
16. A small and convenient black wallet from Kate Spade, found at Bloomingdales.

....and another favorite here to the left:
My new sunglasses from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

I also found many new beauty favorites and here is my pick!
1. Pacifica's coconut body butters which can be found at Sephora.
2. Shadow palette from Too Faced. Great color cobination!!
3. A new favorite nail polish color from Nails inc. London called "Chelsea square".
4. A fantastic hair treatment from Bumble and Bumble called "Creme de Coco". Perfect for sun worn hair and the fact that it smells like coconut doesn't hurt either ;))
5. Since they didn't have the Redken conditioner I was looking for (All soft), I tried another one called "Smooth down" which I LOVED! Great smell too that sticks the whole day and night!
6. A body creme from Victoria's Secret called "Tropic breeze" that smells like heaven!
7. A smokey eye brush from Sephora. The perfect eye shadow tool!!

The deception of "perfection"

Don't worry, stop trying so hard and let go of this unrealistic pressure.....you are beautiful just the way you are! ...and trust me, if there are people who think you should look like the images of people in the photoshopped posters and photos we see everywhere, these are NOT the people you really want to be with. Somebody out there thinks you are perfect already. Maybe not photoshop picture perfect, but perfect for them. Don't settle for less.

Top 10: Vanity must-haves

OK.....this may sound a little odd and ridiculous to some of you, but I actually do have a list of products that I would go into complete and utter panic if they had run-out! Trust me..... I have even tried to go for a couple of weeks without some of them with proven, significantly unwanted side-effects such as blemished skin, dry elbows, hair that looks like a Persian-cat on a rainy day, hair that looks like it has been left to dry in the Mojave-desert for a week or two and a sense of just feeling.....dull........
Now we can't have that, can we?! .....please don't take my exaggerations in a bad way ;))

Anyways! Here is my top 10 list of these life-(read vanity)savers of which my top-5 are the absolute musts:

1. Dermalogica - Ultra Calming Cleanser
The friendliest way to clean the skin! This is my winner and I will go to great lenghts to never ever run out of this again!
I simply LOVE this facial cleanser!!

2. Johson's Baby Oil
Ha! I knew there was a secret (beyond the simple age-factor) as to why baby skin is so soft ;))
This is actually a new found favourite that I don't know how I could have lived without knowing about all these years (thank you Aryan!!)!! Who says this can only be used for babies?! PLUS it costs a quarter of any of my normal body moisurizers!! Wow!

3. Sebastian Potion 9
I blow-dry my hair ever morning......this would be far from possible, considering my Nordic-origined-blonde-hair if it wasn't for this little tube of wonder!! ...and you just need a little!

4. Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
Bye bye to over-sized pores! Yep, using this for a few weeks in a row is the only thing so far that has helped this very common "problem". I tried for a while to do without it, which turned out to be the biggest beauty mistake made during 2009! I will not repeat it!

5. Elisabeth Arden - Eight hour cream
Just put a teeny-tiny little drop on your lips, dried elbows or wherever else you think nothing but the magic of Dumbledoor or photoshop could fix and voilaa!! A minus for the smell, but even so - a fantastic product!!

6. Clarins - Beauty Flash Balm
Lack of sleep, hang-over, a good cry - you name it! This is another tube of miracle that will make you look like you had nothing but beauty-sleep since you were born! (Thank you Tanja! You gave me this little pointer ;))

7. Dermalogica - Super Rich Repair
The PERFECT night-cream! A little pricy in all honesty, but you don't need much, so it lasts long...

8. Smith's Rosebud Salve
An oldie, but a goldie!! A simply fantastic lip-balm that works in all kinds of weather....and can always be found in my hand-bag (somewhere.......).

9. Redken - Pure Moisture
When I found this hair-care series I was amazed!! Never before had my hair felt so revived in no time!! Eeehhmmm, this was also after one of those experimenting periods where I said to myself that I really don't need all those fancy hair-care products. Well, as it turns out, I do!

10. L'Occitane - Grape Shower Oil
Especially in summer and winter.....
It's not that I can't do without this one, but I sure do better with AND it smells better than most oil body-cleansers ;)

If I missed any life-savers or if you have any better ones - please DO share!!!
