Kreativ Blogger Award

Oh yaaaay! I just got the Kreativ Blogger Award from one of my fellow Bloggers! Such a lovely surprise!! It's been quite a while since I last received one, so this really made my day.....
Thank you Cherry ❤

These awards normally come with some sort of request to answer questions or to write something with a specific theme and this award is no different in that sense ;)

AWARD RULES:
 1. Link back to the person who gave you this award
 2. Complete the form below
3. Award 10 other blogs and let them know in a comment or email
4. Share 7 random thoughts about yourself

Here it goes....
1. NAME YOUR FAVORITE SONG:  Eeehhhh as in ONE song? Nooo c'mon....eeeek! OK, if I was really forced to choose, I'd probably go with The sound of white by Missy Higgins.... I think this is the song with my biggest emotional attachment.....it's actually massive....just a few notes and my eyes start to overflow.
2. NAME YOUR FAVORITE DESSERT:  Cupcakes

3. WHAT TICKS ME OFF: Injustice, general ignorance, racism, cruelty to animals and abuse of power and/or religion.

4. WHEN I'M UPSET I: ....feel as if I could replace a large-sized power plant with the energy within me. Luckily, it happens very rarely.... To calm myself down, I blog about it if the reason is not too private or do some sports to release the energy and turn it into something good, always accompanied by music that fits my mood. If my mood is sad, I listen to someone who is sadder than me to put things in perspective. If I'm angry, well then the same principle applies and I listen to very angry music.

5. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PET: I have had numerous pets while growing up, so I am sort of taking a break from that.....also because I don't feel we are home enough for the pet to be happy with us at the moment. I do dream of one day having a dog though....perhaps a Beagle ;)

6. BLACK OR WHITE: Black

7. BIGGEST FEAR: Snakes

8. EVERYDAY ATTITUDE: When I put my heart into my efforts, I believe I can do and achieve anything ♥ I also believe that happiness is a choice.

9. WHAT IS PERFECTION? Something only applicable for things, that many people constantly strive for in themselves or in others, not realizing that in the end, what is perfection for them is not necessarily perfection for everyone else. Something that creates an unrealistic pressure and makes people unhappy beyond logic, reason and in some cases, also beyond ethics.

10. GUILTY PLEASURE: Movie or TV-series marathons, Cupcakes, almond dragees, popcorn, cheese and, luckily, also all kinds of sports ;)

SEVEN RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME:
1. I don't like to talk on the phone and I am really bad at keeping in touch with people via the phone in general.....meaning this also applies to SMS messages etc...
2. I have started to love running, but if it wasn't for the "Runkeeper"app, I probably wouldn't run a meter.... I need to track and measure my running performance to keep it interesting so I always run with my iPhone.
3. Wearing high heels is the most uncomfortable thing ever! I only wear them if I have to.... This doesn't mean that I don't love to watch or window-shop them though ;))
4. I am probably the worst person in the world at ironing.
5. One dream that has never quite faded away all though I never truly gave it a go, is the dream of writing my own songs.....
6. I haven't quite learned to take in compliments and I feel the most uncomfortable if/when receiving them in public. I get the shivers just thinking about it.
7. I don't have TV by choice. I don't like the way it "makes me" watch things I don't even really like, just because it's there....

I thank you for the inspiration.

Sweet & Sour

...no, not the Chinese sauce, I am actually referring to my 2010 so far!!

Life is really funny in that way, don't you think? One door opens, another one closes.... After rain - you'll have sunshine.... You win one and loose another!

My January, plans and actuals, summarized in sweet or sour:

Sour
- Heart-ache (filtered!)
- The tragedy in Haiti!!!!!
- Enormous bill recieved for the delayed import of my car (Scheisse as the Swiss/Germans would say!!)
- My planned trip to the Dominican republic was cancelled
- Was called up for the lottery to get David Letterman tickets, but missed the call!!! ....and they don't call back if you miss it =(

Sweet
- I had the pleasure of having dinner with Paulo Coelho this past Sunday (Yes! The world-famous writer....)!!
- Confirmed trip to New york with a friend in February and I am ridiculously excited about it!
- Spent half of yesterday in a wonderful day-SPA in Zurich!! Am so happy I found it and will definately go back soon!
- Jewel sent me a tweet!! This makes me childishly happy! ...pathetic? Maybe.....but I'm still happy about it!
- My back is finally getting better! ...am even considering signing up for a year at the gym!
- Going to Disneyland in Paris in mid-February aswell (for work, but anyway!)
- I finally found the black knee-high leather boots which I have been desperately seeking for years and they are lovely!!
- Going to Toggenburg for a couple of days at the end of February

....and last but certainly not least in the "sweet-category", I just received an award for my blog!!
(Thank you Emma from "Om en tjej"!!!)

This award comes with some instructions:
1. Copy the award to your blog
2. Link to the person who gave you this award
3. Write 7 interesting facts about yourself
4. Pass this award on to 7 other blogs
5. Link to these 7 blogs and inform these bloggers about the award they just recieved

As it is a little difficult for me to know what you'd find interesting, I will just mention whatever comes to my mind ;)

* I LOVE SINGING!! In fact, whenever I'm alone, I sing all the time ;)
* I work at Unilever as the European category planning manager for tea (brands like Lipton, PG tips, Beseda, Saga etc.)
* I have a thing, a soft-spot you could say, for Jane Austen books/movies!!
* It is incredibly difficult to make me angry - but once you manage, it is almost impossible for me to get back!
* I am a sponge when it comes to remembering lyrics to songs....doesn't matter if I like them or not ;)
* Making people happy makes me happier than anything else!
* I am obsessed with cupcakes!!

I hope you are enjoying 2010 so far and that your lives are SWEET - not sour!! I'm hoping mine will be more in the style of "Sweet Chili" going forward!! Isn't that what life should be like? Sweet and a little spicy ;) As Abraham Lincoln once so wisely said: "...and in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years"......these are words worth remembering and living by ;)

Hope to see you back here soon!

Linda - Lost in Poland....and an award!

Finally arrived at my hotel-room in Katowice, Poland. The flight here was NOT pleasant! All I can say is T U R B U L E N C E and during 5 awful minutes, I managed to go from "HEEEEEEELP! I am going to diiiieeeeee" to "Oh well.....can't really do much to influence it anyway. If this is it - then this is just.......it.....really!"...

.......as you can see - that was not IT! I am very much alive, allthough ridiculously tired - just feeling a little lost.....in Poland.

Now off to be lost in the land of dreams, hopefully without any turbulence ;)
Just stopping by to say hello.... What are you up to this week?

Ooooohhhh!!! Dear Sweet Wonderful Emma from the Swedish blog "Om en tjej" has given me an award! YAY!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I will pass this award on to "Daisy Pink Cupcake", "From Lina" and "Wonderlander".

Linda - Lost in Poland for 2 days

My "things-I-wanna-buy-for-my-home-ASAP" wishlist and an award...

Hey everyone!
Hope you are all doing great and that you are fully enjoying the last days of summer (sad, but true)...

Yesterday, I had some girls over for drinks (actually for a friends hen-night ;)) and as always when I have people over, I start scrutinizing my home and the way it is decorated....

As I am Swedish, it's not strange to say that my general taste is very Scandinavian!
For those of you who are not familiar with that style, well the long winters and lack of natural light in Scandinavia created a need for sleek and airy interiors that could make the most of the available sunlight.... Which basically means a home that, in simple terms, is clean, simple and uncluttered (allthough I have to admit I'm starting to like some kinds of clutter more and more).
Now I feel an instant need to make my home more ME....which basically means I will have to go off my Scandinavian path and get more clutter! Having that said, here is my wish-list in complete random order:

1. I follow a blog called MissFixTrix.com and found these gorgeous little cupcake baking forms! (thanks Johanna for sharing this!!).
These can be found at Designista.se and I believe I will be placing
an order shortly....

2. A gorgeous little (8dl) pink, metallic tea-pot from a swedish website called inreda.com!

3. I just HAVE to get one of these personalized shower-curtains!

My boyfriend is a photographer and I think his"How clouds appear" picture would make an excellent showercurtain!!
Get your own personalized one here:http://www.photoshowercurtain.com/

4. I love scented candles and have them everywhere! My favourite brand is Voluspa and I just discovered a new scent that I MUST try - Fleur de Cocoa.
These candles are a little expensive, but have a veeery long burning time!

5. Some colourful handmade vases to put some flowers in from this little webshop:
(the perfect colours for my livingroom)

6. I already have two of these in white, but think it will be a very good idea to mix it with two of these adorable little flower-lamps from IKEA.
They are from their children-section, but I think it would be ashame for an adult not to enjoy these ;)

7. I'm also planning to have quite a few photos printed.....both for normal framing but also a couple of canvas-prints....
Here I'm basically BEGGING YOU for tips on where to turn for good canvas prints.... Anyone?

Now on to something completely difrent....
I have recieved an AWARD (Thank You Lina (fromlina.blogspot.com)!

With this award, I have to pass it on to other bloggers and share 10 interesting facts about me, so here I go (I apologize in advance, because "interesting" is very relative!):

1. I LOVE games....any kind...from Trivial pursuit to karaoke to bag-jumping! I think all parties should have a game or a theme ;) When I recieve an invitation to a party, there is always a liiiiiiittle disappointment inside of me about the party not being a masquerade...or a treasurehunt... So I'm a grown-up - it doesn't mean I don't want to have fun?

2. I am a vegetarian, but do eat fish... I have something against eating animals I could cuddle with!

3. I love watching sad, tragic movies allthough they make me cry like a baby (think reaaally tragic like Lars Von Triers "Dancer in the dark" or "Oldboy"...) Why? I think it's humbling and it makes me appreciate what I have even more...

4. I am normally a very peaceful person, but injustice and immoral behaviours can make me BOIL of anger.....

5. We pay taxes, and I admit I sometimes complain about that (well less since moving away from Sweden), but I also believe a part of our salary should always go to charity... I believe in equal rights for all and that we should all give to the less fortunate...

6. The way we iconize anorectic druggies (read Kate Moss, Lindsey Lohan and co), the whole "size-zero concept" and the way women are scrutinized by their looks makes me feel that people can be SOOOO bloody stupid and it makes me a little ashamed to be human!
...and I thought I had a tough time beeing a teenager.... Can't even imagine what it would be like today =(

7. OK, this is embarressing, but ok... I used to be so addicted to watching "The bold & the beautiful" that my mom had to tape it for me so I could watch it after my homework was done.....(and by the way - she is still addicted ;)) Sorry mom! Hihi!)

8. I LOVE SINGING and writing lyrics. I have always had a secret dream of being a singer but suffer from stage-freight and a very very below average singing voice =o/
It's much better now, but when I was in school I wasn't allowed in the choir (quite harsh actually....I was like 10?!) because of my some-what damaged vocal cords....

9. I am a feminist (allthough not militant or anything...)!

10. Peer pressure has absolutely ZERO impact on me....it's always been like that. I've always had my own beliefs and ideas and always been proud of it (it can make me too strong-headed at times though.....that should be said!). Individualism rocks!

I pass this award on to the following fellow bloggers:

{sprinkle} tiaras atop our pastel hair;; (my far-away-half-my-age-twin ;))

"Touch my heart once and you shall never be forgotten"
This is me.....quoting myself....is that weird? =o/

Take care of yourselves and your loved ones (and try to also give some spare cash to charity...if you have any)........and keep SMILING!
